At relatively the same time, the toy company Funko released the following photo of one of their Pop! Vinyl figures for Iron Man 3, which features Tony Stark in a "Deep Space Suit."
What could this "Deep Space Suit" really mean for Iron Man 3? According to inside sources, Tony Stark will in fact head into space at the end of Iron Man 3, where he will meet up with the stars of another Phase II adventure.
"According to sources, at the end of Iron Man 3, Tony actually does go up into space to hook up with the Guardians of the Galaxy where I also hear he appears at the end of that movie as well."

@ghostman Doesn't matter. Marvel is smart for marketing it now and starting up a new comic-series for it. Allows time for people to get more familiar with the characters and with the story.

But it's weird how we're getting a build up teaser to this movie when it doesn't come out for another year, let alone no one has been casted for it.

I think it's a smart move, as Guardians is definitely the least-known property they've adapted so far in this universe. Having such a recognizable character as Stark set up the connection to that part of the larger story will help lure in casual fans who otherwise might not be interested, especially if they see marketing for GotG and think it looks like Green Lantern. People need to know that this IS part of the larger MCU, and the Guardians characters fit alongside the Avengers.

@ghostman I think it being a Marvel movie in general will get their "butts in the movie seats". They cameo Iron Man in them to connect the films together. It's setting up Guardians of the Galaxy to Avengers 2. Not really a bad thing.
