Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). not sure what it has to do with the film (other than feature Carrey's face), but the idea is pretty sensational. it definitely gets your attention. hopefully the film is solid. my biggest fear is it's Carrey being Carrey... even in the Grinch Carrey somehow managed to outshine the character (in a bad way) in a hundred pounds of makeup. and carrey as liminey snicket was just unwatchable. hopefully he's more tame in this classic movie.
