Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
And yet...
As in all wars, life goes on. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate - and lose a few eyebrows in the process. The Weasley twins expand their business. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Classes are never straightforward, though Harry receives some extraordinary help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.
So it's the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter. Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort - and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will open in theaters on November 21.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released July 15th, 2009 and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Michael Gambon, Dave Legeno, Elarica Gallacher, Jim Broadbent, Geraldine Somerville, Bonnie Wright, Julie Walters. The film is directed by David Yates.

I am a big fan of the books, the movies have all been awesome, I was a little dissapointed with the third one, just because some of the important aspects in the book were taken out or modified. Did it bother anyoneother than me that the set in #3, mainly the grounds, was so drastically diffrent than in the first two movies??, I hope number 6 proves to be the best one yet!

Yea I'm not a huge fan of the Potter movies but I eventually end up seeing them at some point or another and I have to admit they do get more interesting as the story progresses.

It is as simple as this The Kwisatz Haderach, people have never heard of the books that you mentioned. Therefore, no studio is going to front the money to finance a big budget movie that absolutely no one has ANY interest in. See The Golden Compass for reference. These movies are HUGE and so of course they're made well because they are granted just about any budget they need.

I for one can't understand why this crapfest is so freakin popular. I've read a few of the books out of curiosity and still don't get it. Every book is the same damn plot with a few changes so the dull minded wont notice. Dark lord attacks no one believes it or lil Harry Otter, someone get hurts and everyone gets scared, Harry Otter saves the day, next year same sh*t happens on a different day. ITS CRAP!!!!
Granted the movies are wonderfully shot and beautiful effects costumes but they are freaking boring!!!! ! The bottom line is the books blow the sweat off monkey balls. Nothing new ever happens it's the same story over and over, same basic plot lines. Its drivel! I don't get it. There are plenty of great fantasy novels to turn in really cool films. Drizzit from Forgotten Realms the Wheel of Time series, anything but this whiney ass British boy wizard crap!
