Anyone else find that running in solo with a machine gun bit a little too over the top for a war film? Even a Tarantino film? Well whatever i'm not too psyched but Tarantino is always worth a shot. ROFL i just the simpsons episode where tarantino directs an itchy and scratchy episode lol

Ok to note people on this
Its not called 'Inglorious Bastards' it never was the original title is actually 'Inglorious Basterds.'
Tarantino has been working on this puppy since and while he was writing Pulp Fiction.
This film can also be considered as Tarantino's first remake, and as stated yes this films contains many references and homage to that such as the dirty dozens and the original Inglorious Bastards and many other war films.
Also QT strongest point is his references and homages along with his brilliant, witty realistic normatc dialogue.

this looks like a typical tarantino film, but that is not a bad thing. i think with tarantino you either like his films or dont, and i think i am stuck in between and feel he has had his hits and misses, but this i am looking forward to. been waiting for some type of trailer and finally have gotten to see what exactly i am looking forward to. rock on tarantino... rock on.

its spelled different becuase they probably had to change the spelling for it to be on posters and tv and stuff. If u technically change the spelling, u change the word, there fore it doesnt mean bastards. IDK, thats my guess. Its kinda like when Meet the Fockers had to actually find a family with that last name so they could use it. I personally think this trailer looks good. Im a big fan of Tarantino and I like Roth. Im not saying they are the best ever but they are good, so NateMAN dont come after me for saying I like them. Cabin Fever was ok, Hostile was Mehhh, but the style of movie i liked. and i dont even have to mention Tarantinos works

Damn that is the dumbest trailer i've ever seen. What the hell is Tarantino thinking? Why make a WWII film staring the creepy guy from "Freaks and Geeks", BJ Novak from "The Office", and Eli "the worst horror movie director to ever walk the face of the earth" Roth. What the hell???

Tarantino...Rodriguez...I get them mixed up. Yes, you're probably right that when a full-length trailer pops up I will be on the band wagon, but I'm saying that THIS trailer wasn't as great as you people are saying it is. Just because it's a teaser doesn't mean it has to suck

....Why is it "Basterds" and not "Bastards"? That has been driving me nuts!

Rodrguez? It's a Quentin Tarantino film!
Vis this is the movie he has been talking about for year's, It is supposed to be his best yet! I bet when a 2nd trailer or red band trailer pops up you will be hooked! It is a teaser and could have been better, But this movie will rock ayways rather it has a good trailer or not!

Comrade Henson, I never said that Tarantino doesn't write excellent dialogue, thats definitely his strongest point. I don't feel that he has made a movie that is entirely a homage to something else and it's just worn out on me, especially on Death Proof. That stupid ass scene where all the girls are sitting around talking about cars in the diner, it was already well established that these girls were in to cars and I felt that the scene in general was very pointless, and no he has never had a scene where people have talked for an hour, it was suppose to be an exaggeration.
With the exception of Death Proof I haven't seen any Tarantino film that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed, I would just like to see him make a movie that wasn't so overbearing on paying homage to something else. When I first saw Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill I viewed it as an auteur quality about him, but after seeing Death Proof it made me reconsider what I think about him. He's a very talented writer and director and I wish that he would make something that steps out of this formula.

I just don't see what was so "badass" about that trailer, unless you're turned on by Brad Pitt with an accent. There was nothing there to make you think it's going to be f*cking awesome, you're just saying that because it's Rodrguez. So Brad Pitt wants to kill some Nazis and Hitler goes "ni, ni, ni" or whatever the f*ck it is...what exactly was so great about THIS particular footage?...nothing

Hyp, Tarantino writes excellent dialogue, that's what makes him a good director. As for the (sometimes pop) culture references, that's his background, and it creates a breadth and distinctiveness not found in a lot of other movies. Those discussions become legendary (the "Like a Virgin Talk" for example)
If any of you don't like it, shove it up your ass. Tarantino's not out for awards (yet he's still award-winning at Cannes, not to mention multiple Palme d'or's, which is usually a sign he's doing something right). He's making the movies he wants to. I'll admit that I thought Death Proof was a low point of his form, but I understand the homage style, which is seen in a lot of his films, and I like it a lot.
Besides, (and I'm talking to hyp again, not just general community) the entirety of Tarantino's movies are in themselves homages to cultural memes. Kill Bill is an original story almost completely composed of subtle (and partial, not direct and overt like that Family Guy sh*t) references, (including even its own premise) even so far as the soundtrack. Were you annoyed by the whole movie because you couldn't spot every reference? Of course not. You don't have to get the reference to enjoy the dialogue. I don't think he's ever done a scene where people talk for an hour either, he's fairly action driven when his character aren't talking (which happens in short bursts).

I don't usually complain about posts because everyone has the right to an opinion but someone has to say something...Happy Jack, let me sum up your post...Brad Pitt sucks, this looks pretty good, I'm telling a joke and then pointing it out that I told a joke. This movie looks good! F*ck you and your Joker icon. Like movies didn't exist and there were no good actors before Heath Ledger, F*CK YOU. I'm sick of this sh*t. You should have to take some kind of movie IQ test before being allowed to post.

This movie will of course be balls to the wall awesome, but I really want Tarantino to do a movie that isn't over the top and ultra-violent, every single one of his movies is nothing but cinema and pop culture references and if he wasn't so good at doing it I'd have to call him a hack. I'm half expecting there to be a scene where the basterds sit in a diner for an hour and talk about how awesome some bit of 30s pop-culture is. Sick of seeing that sh*t in every movie he does. Either way, this movie is going to rock.
