Infomercial King Billy Mays Is Found Dead

Last week, infomercial king Billy Mays appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien to promote his new Discovery Channel series Pitchmen, and the 50 year old ad salesman appeared to be in high spirits and good health. That's why his mysterious death came as such a shocker on Sunday morning, when he was found none responsive in his Tampa, Florida home by his wife.

Mays built his fame and fortune by appearing on thousands of commercials and infomercials promoting such iconic household products as Orange Glo and OxiClean. Police stated that there were no forced signs of entry into the May's residence, and that foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be completed on Monday afternoon, but May's wife Deborah said in a statement, "Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times."

Mays was currently working on the Discovery Channel series Pitchmen with Anthony Sullivan. There is no word on what will happen with the show. And there are no plans to pull the many commercials starring Mays from the airwaves anytime soon.

@ BOI: I read that there's no plans to pull any of his commercials off the air, so you may still hear his voice from time to time.

The autopsy results were just revealed. He had an enlarged heart and died of a blocked artery.

What MovieWeb has failed to report is that shortly before his passing, Mays had been on a flight that experienced a rough landing and had caused some items to fall on his head. An investigation is under way to see if this may or may not have had a contributing role in Billy Mays' untimely death, which I bet it will show that it did. He probably suffered and died of undetected head trauma, which is how Natasha Richardson died. Besides, suicide is completely absurd since he had great success as a TV pitchman, clean bill of health other than a past hip replacement and upcoming one, and good family life. There's already speculation that he may have died in the middle of the night as well.
