RADiUS-TWC acquires the documentary Inequality for All
RADiUS has slated a summer 2013 release.
When middle class consumers have to tighten their belts, the whole economy suffers as seen in the years before the Great Depression and as it stands today. The middle class represents 70% of spending and is the great stabilizer of our economy. No increase in spending by the rich can make up for it. This is the moment in history in which we find ourselves: unprecedented income divisions, a wildly fluctuating and unstable economy, and average Americans increasingly frustrated and disillusioned. The debate about income inequality has become part of the national discussion, and this is a good thing. Inequality for All connects the dots for viewers, showing why dealing with the widening gap between the right and everyone else isn't just about moral fairness. The issues addressed are arguably the most pressing of our times. The film alternates between intimate, approachable sequences and intellectually rigorous arguments helping people with no economic background or education of what it means for the U.S. to be economically imbalanced, and walk away with a comprehensive and significantly deeper sense of the issues and what can be done about it.
Here's what The Weinstein Company co-chairman Harvey Weinstein had to say about the documentary in a statement.
"Together, Robert and Jacob have given the inequality of the U.S. economy the knockout punch it deserves by exposing the lies being told to the American people. Funny and poignant, Inequality for All is this year's game changer."
The documentary's subject, Robert Reich, also released a statement regarding the acquisition.
"I'm proud to be a member of this team and incredibly excited about this film. We're approaching a turning point in our economy and democracy and people need to see this film in order to understand what's at stake. I have enormous confidence in Harvey Weinstein and RADiUS to get this film in front of as many people as possible. They know this is an important movie."
Director Jacob Kornbluth spoke about the journey he went on with this film.
"This has been such an amazing journey. I could not be any more passionate about this material. It is incredibly timely and could not be told by a more charismatic guide. I'm thrilled to working with RADiUS and think they are the perfect partner to get this film and these ideas out into the world."
Producers Jennifer Chaiken and Sebastian Dungan echo the dierctor's sentiment in their statement.
"With the success that Harvey has had bringing important docs to a wide audience and Tom Quinn and Jason Janego smart and innovative approach to distribution, we feel the film has found its perfect home."
RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego also shared their thoughts about the film.

RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn, Jason Janego along with TWC president and COO David Glasser negotiated the deal with WME Global's Mark Ankner, Liesl Copland and attorney Linda Lichter of Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman.
Inequality for All comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Robert Reich. The film is directed by Jacob Kornbluth.

Robert Reich is going to tell us about the economy? This is the same man who helped set up our current economy to crash when he worked for Bill Clinton. Of course TWC would let this idiot make a doc*mentary.
