Variety reports that Sony Pictures Animation's first CG project Open Season will be released in Imax 3-D simultaneously with the pic's theatrical release on September 29th.

Open Season, which features the voices of Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher, is a buddy comedy about a happily domesticated 900-pound grizzly bear.

Imax's 2006 film slate now includes six digitally remastered studio pics skedded to be released day-and-date in Imax theaters, and one original Imax pic, Deep Sea 3-D, which opened last weekend.

Open Season was released September 29th, 2006 and stars Martin Lawrence, Ashton Kutcher, Gary Sinise, Debra Messing, Billy Connolly, Georgia Engel, Jon Favreau, Jane Krakowski. The film is directed by Roger Allers, Jill Culton, Anthony Stacchi.
