IFC Entertainment and Netflix's Red Envelope Entertainment have picked up Shane Meadows' autobiographical dramedy, This Is England.

The film tells the story of a boy who befriends a gang of skinheads. Set in 1983, it follows a bullied 12-year-old from a small English town whose father died in the Falkland Islands War; The Hollywood Reporter adds he seeks role models in a band of teen skinheads, but things take an ugly turn when one of the gang is released from prison and pushes a racist ideology.

This Is England opens in theaters in July.

This Is England was released July 25th, 2007 and stars Thomas Turgoose, Stephen Graham, Jo Hartley, Andrew Shim, Vicky McClure, Joseph Gilgun, Rosamund Hanson, Andrew Ellis. The film is directed by Shane Meadows.
