IFC Adds Coastlines to It's First Take Line-Up

It seems that IFC isn't having any problems getting filmmakers to sign their films up for their own version of the "Superrelease."

According to Variety, IFC Entertainment has added Ulee's Gold helmer Victor Nunez's Coastlines to its IFC First Take slate, which distributes pics day-and-date in theaters and through video-on-demand.

Under topper Jonathan Sehring, IFC unveiled plans at Sundance to preem 24 indie films this year via First Take as a strategy to give niche pics exposure outside major markets and film fests.

Coastlines will roll out in May.

Other pics in First Take's stable so far include the mockumentary CSA: The Confederate States of America, exec produced by Spike Lee; American Gun, with Donald Sutherland, Forest Whitaker and Marcia Gay Harden; Russian Dolls, with Audrey Tautou; and Sorry, Haters, starring Robin Wright Penn.

Nunez-helmed pic looks at life in a rural Florida coastal town and stars Timothy Olyphant as a man who returns home after five years in prison. Josh Brolin and Sarah Wynter also star.

The film has been awaiting a theatrical release since it preemed as a buzz title at Sundance in 2002. Clear Blue Sky Prods. and IFC Prods. co-produced.

Nunez's other credits include Ruby in Paradise.

Coastlines was released May 31st, 2006 and stars Timothy Olyphant, Josh Brolin, Sarah Wynter, Scott Wilson, Angela Bettis, Josh Lucas, Robert Wisdom, Daniel von Bargen. The film is directed by Victor Nunez.

CSA: The Confederate States of America was released February 15th, 2006. The film is directed by Kevin Willmott.

American Gun was released March 22nd, 2006 and stars Marcia Gay Harden, Forest Whitaker, Donald Sutherland, Lisa Long, Chris Warren Jr., David Heymann, Chris Marquette, Amanda Seyfried. The film is directed by Aric Avelino.
