Jason Bateman's ID Theft gets Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon
The story centers on an ordinary man who gets his identity stolen by a woman. It is said that the identity thief was originally supposed to be a man, but Jason Bateman pushed Universal to cast Melissa McCarthy after her breakthrough performance in Bridesmaids.
Seth Gordon will direct ID Theft from a screenplay originally written by Steve Conrad, with Craig Mazin performing a rewrite. Jason Bateman is also producing along with Scott Stuber.
Our original report from August indicated production will start in April, after Melissa McCarthy wraps on her CBS sitcom Mike & Molly.
ID Theft comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy. The film is directed by Seth Gordon.
