Ice Age: The Meltdown to Hit DVD on November 21

Things can get a bit chilly in the fourth quarter for DVD sales, which is why Fox is hoping to thaw them out releasing Ice Age: The Meltdown on November 21.

According to Home Media Retailing, the film, which took in $193 million in the U.S., is poised to take advantage of "Black Friday" following Thanksgiving.

The Ice Age: The Meltdown DVD will contain "a never-before-seen computer-animated short, No Time for Nuts, created exclusively for the DVD. It features additional antics by the "Scrat" character, voiced by original Ice Age director Chris Wedge."

Other extras will include "commentaries by director Carlos Saldanha, producer Lori Forte and the production team; introductions to new characters Ellie, Crash and Eddie; three short films; "Crash & Eddie Stunts"; a sound-effects lab; bloopers involving Crash and Eddie; a featurette on John Leguizamo's voice characterization of Sid; four set-top games; and clips of Scrat's appearance on "Family Guy" and Sid hosting the Fox Animation Domination lineup."

The original Ice Age DVD was released before Thanksgiving and that title has sold over 14 million copies.

Ice Age: The Meltdown was released March 31st, 2006 and stars Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Queen Latifah, Will Arnett, Jay Leno. The film is directed by Carlos Saldanha.
