Ian Ziering and Will Sasso to Star in National Lampoon's the Legend of Awesomest Maximus

National Lampoon is moving forward on their new project with sandaled feet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Sasso and Ian Ziering have signed on to star on National Lampoon's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus.

Others joining the cast are Kristanna Loken, Sophie Monk, Tony Cox and Rip Torn in this new spoof film that will mock sword-and-sandals epics such as Troy, Gladiator and 300.

Jeff Kanew (The Revenge of the Nerds) will direct from a script by Jeff Burinescu. No production schedule has been announced, but the film's broadcast rights have already been sold to Comedy Central.

National Lampoon's the Legend of Awesomest Maximus comes to theaters March 20th, 2012 and stars Kristanna Loken, Rip Torn, Sophie Monk, Ian Ziering, Deon Richmond, Gary Lundy, Dennis Haskins, Tony Cox. The film is directed by Jeff Kanew.

    but i love rip torn, hes one of the greats, in my opinion.
