Ian McShane Suggests Deadwood Not Dead

Ian Mcshane on a Deadwood return: "Never count anything out."
In an interview with MTV, Ian McShane suggested that the critically-acclaimed HBO Western Deadwood may not be dead after all.

Ian McShane, who portrayed menacing bar owner Al Swearengen, said that Deadwood creator David Milch has been talking about a return to Sheriff Bullock's dusty town, but has yet to approach HBO.

"You never know," he said. "You never know. Don't say no. Never count anything out. I've always have a sneaking thing in the back of my mind that that would be the best comeback ever. There's unfinished business. It was a great show. I can't give it away," he said slyly. "So we'll see."{/quote

It isn't clear if the new incarnation of Deadwood will be the long-rumored version for the big screen or if it will be a return to the small screen.

A deadwood movie would be bad ass. I think season three was the best season.

A Deadwood Comeback would blow my Mind. I'm not too sure how busy Olyphant is with Justified though. Wonder if he'd even have the time. Or if being on FX would keep him from going back to HBO.

Listen to he commentary on the last episode of the series with the producer I believe and how he explains in so many words what a bunch of dickhe*ds for cancelling the show and not giving the fans at least some kind of closure. But the hint of them repeating the first season is a good sign from HBO. It also doesn't hurt that True Grit is becoming the 2d biggest western of all time. We movies fans are not just into superheros and robots for crying out loud.
