Hugo Poster

Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key. Based on Brian Selznick's award winning and imaginative New York Times bestseller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, this magical tale is Academy Award-winner Martin Scorsese's first film shot in 3D.

Hugo was released November 23rd, 2011 and stars Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Ray Winstone, Emily Mortimer, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese.

Why did the title change from: "Hugo Cabret" to the now boring "Hugo"!?

Love Martin Scorsese....huge fan..."BIG"! ....but not feeling this...friends are wondering why Martin Scorsese choose this genre all of sudden!?

And of course it has to be in 3-D ...Sorry that turns me off...2-D is just fine...1/2 the time there is no difference between the two!

Interesting.. That first bit where the guy comes in and says "there's been a fire" reminded me of A Series of Unfortunate Events lol.

@photoman um excuse me but r u seriously calling chris columbus an average director, SERIOUSLY. he made the first two harry potter movies and kickstarted the highest grossing movie franchise of ALL TIME. if thats an average director then, sh*t, im sure every movie studio would KILL to have an average director make a movie for them. i didnt know there was anything on this earth that could make you THAT high to say something like that. you may have found the gold mine of narcotics, my friend. you could make a fortune in hollywood selling that sh*t to celebs. get at it, boy.

Since it's Scorsese I'll see it, but I hope he does a gritty movie again next. And Jude Law is everywhere recently with Sherlock Holmes 2, Contagion, and now this.lol

What the hell is Martin Scorsese thinking? He is a very good director, and has a great cast, but the movie's potential is just not there. Heart-warming moments, with a soundtrack of 30 Seconds To Mars? What a mismatch.

Wow! This definitely doesn't seem Scorsese-ish, but I think that's one of the marks of a good director is that their films don't always come out looking exactly the same. I'm not sure Scorsese is going to pull this off after seeing the trailer (it felt forced), but I applaud the attempt to move outside his genre comfort zone.

I loved the book, I love Chloe Moretz, and I love Scorsese, but I just can't get in to this yet. From this trailer, it looks too cheesy to be Scorsese. I won't say I'll pass just yet, but I'm a little iffy at this point.

And why the name change? I thought the original name was just fine!

Cohen slip away, Cohen crash with a giant cake ????? And the music is, well, not good.
Looks like a Chris Colombus or whatever average directors flick.

@thedude-abides I want to see it, if just because Sacha's involvement amuses the hell out of me. But it honestly looks good, like an old fashioned, old school movie.

@shuabert You have no idea how glad I am to hear you say that. Up until now I thought I was the only one who felt that way, not just about this movie, but about anything with substance. And I agree, it looks amazing. I'm glad to see you and I can finally find common ground, lol.

@thedude-abides I feel that way every day on this site. This looks as awesome as I was expecting. A little Dickens, a little Dahl. It's always nice to see Scorsese so something a little different. I think I liked Shutter Island a lot more than a lot of people, and I'm really excited for this also.

This looks like absolute sh*t.......I'm shocked!!!! Could this be the first Martin Scorsese disaster??? I hope not.....but it looks like it could be possible.

Not interested in this at all anymore after that trailer......hopefully the next one will be better and re-kindle my interest.

@thedude-abides, well people are entitled to their opinions, however unappealing it may seem. I'm a huge fan of Scorsese, but that doesn't mean I'm inclined to be interested in every film he does. As for the rest of the naysayers, half of them are faceless users. I wouldn't give their opinion much thought. :P
