Hugh Jackman Will Not Host the 2010 Academy Awards

Despite earning rave reviews for his hosting duties, a popular actor won't host the movie industry's biggest award event next year. According to Variety, Hugh Jackman will not be hosting the 2010 Academy Awards.

Jackman, who is currently starring in the Broadway play "A Steady Rain" alongside Daniel Craig, had reportedly turned down the offer in the past few weeks. Jackman won't rule out ever hosting the awards gala again, but it was said that he didn't want to host the ceremony for two years in a row.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will air on March 7 and will be produced by Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman.

-Hugh Jackman was a fantastic host! I am sad he won't be hosting this one but it will leave us all wanting him more for 2011.
-LMAO at the Paul Reiser nod.
-Billy Crystal was great in his day but that day has passed. I doubt anyone under 60 would watch if he hosted.
-Conan is very funny and closer to the right track.
-I wouldn't be disappointed if Neil Patrick Harris hosted; he was great at the Emmy's.
-My absolute ideal choice would be Jimmy Fallon. He has made a huge mark on Late Night and executed some of the funniest bits in recent award show memory (his Emmy fall is at the top of that list). Plus he draws a whole new generation and audience.

JIMMY FALLON FOR 2010 OSCAR HOST!!!

Good. Change it up. Go old school with Billy Crystal. Comedy has the best appeal.

And scrap the five presenters for the acting categories, who spit out some bull about the greatness of the candidate. Return to clips from the films. Much more effective. And more entertaining.

Has Jerry Seinfeld been approached or any other actor who has good timing. Hell I would personally like to see Paul Riser host for a change.

Smart move to ask him to host again with how successful ratings were last year but they should have already known that everybody would tell him not to do it two years in a row.

He's an actor and was approached to do that number, but I found it was entertaining.

    woohoo!
seriously though i thought huge ackman would be a good host until i tuned in and saw the song and dance routine, and no offense to people who like song and dance routines but i projectile vomitted all over my damn room, which was subsequently difficult to clean out of the carpet and from the drapes and stuff.
