Hugh Jackman Updates Us on X-Men Origins: Wolverine with a Note and New Pic

Aint It Cool News recently received a note for Hugh Jackman himself concerening the recent reshoots that have been done on the film. He also sent along a new cast photo, which you can check out below. As for Jackman's words, this is what he had to say:
Hey everyone! It's Hugh Jackman, sending this note from freezing Vancouver. I have read a lot of your online comments regarding the footage that we are currently shooting and I share your passion for the Wolverine character and the movie - I owe it all to you guys!

I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we've got much more in store!

In the meantime, here's an exclusive shot of some characters you may recognize...

Cheers, Hugh

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Even with the reshoots, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is still being released on May 1st, 2009. So keep your chin up!

    **knuckles** on last comment

Oh yeah in the movies he makes a sound every time they come out, instead ofhim being use to it, like he should be, and hes seen rubbing those spots, between his knuckles, I see what they were trying to do, humanize him, but by the time he he became an X-men, them hurting him shouldn't have been an issue, in this movie it should be an issue

Check urls to see how in the movie they come from betweeen his knucles and in the original he has them comming out of his bone connected to the knucle (by the way thats the bone clawed Wolverine),

and I agree, Wolverine was one of my favorite X-men until I saw the movie depictions

Def hope its more accurate to the character of wolverine then the last three. i mean Wolverine is the best there is at what he does an all that, but in 2 otta three movies he gets his ass handed 2 him in by not 1 but 2 chicks. Whats up with that? an not clear on your last comment, Wolvies caws have always come out of is knuckles, and they do hurt...hes just used to it after so many times. Thatd b awsome if YOU could do an x men movie true to its source.

One more thing, I don't like the fact that his claws come out between his knuckles, are not at least 2 feet long, hurt him when they come out and do not come out of his knuckles/above, let's say someone like me wants to make another X-Men movie, in the future and let's say I have the Wolverine/Magneto big fight, in which Magneto takes Wolverines alloy adamantium out of his body, and thus Wolverine's long bone claws are born, it won't be possible, with this wolverine, they could have at least did the in between knuckles thing on profile shots and on the knuckles for close ups, and I know what you're might say how would that be possible, have a glove like thing that's later edited out, would work.

On another note Johnny Blaze, this depiction of Wolverine, in this movie, is the most accurate to the character, he really didn't get the anger and ferociousness of wolverine, until this movie, so hopefully it's as good as it should be.

    yep

    but here are benifits

he has increased stamina and strength because of it, due to rapid healing muscles.

But yeah he cal get shot to hell and still keeping going. That is priceless in a merc

he is pretty much immune to death

Someone simply asked that when he retracts his claws, where do those long ass claws go (in his arm/storage wise).

    3 years agoby @chad-vitalFlag

  19. Mmm_mmm

The claws are between the knuckles.

    That's why there are 3
they were made of bone. Then when they covered his skeleton with Admentium (wrong spelling) they got covered too.

they are usually longer than his hands so I wondered where they went

LOL i didn't actually even plan to bump into him or know he was in the same place, i was doing secondary filler footage for my current film in Central London and i ended up walking down Regent St and Australia's trailer was on this big building and then Hugh just came out with Luhman.

Hehehe i didn't rent Prestige i bought it the day after i saw it on Sky. I've seen all of Nolan's films except 'Following' which is near impossible to find in shops :(

Doesn't his claws retract from his knuckles, or did they place them in there during the op?

    3 years agoby @chronicFlag

  21. Mmm_mmm

yeah I hope they explain it

    good deal

  23. Chad Vital

I'm assuming the claws retract the same as any real animal(s) does. It does into their hand/foot. In this case, since his are like a foot I'm assuming it simply goes up his forearm. And if you didn't notice, his arms are pretty big (buff), which means he has room or looks to have room for them to be in there. I bet you they will explain it in the movie when he gets the operation.

  24. Movie_jedi

cant wait to see deadpool rip it up!!!!!

    3 years agoby @movie-jediFlag

  25. Mmm_mmm

Where does his claws go when they retract? I always wondered that.

They are longer than his hands so they'd go into his arms. But then he couldn't like move his hands.

They'd have to compress or be malleable when contracted to that they could move with his wrists. But that wouldn't work with the whole story that they are bones. Bones aren't malleable

  26. The Narrator: The Better Man

Prstige is on my top twenty. I thought it was Nolans best for a while, until I rented Begins, and saw TDK. lol.
