Hugh Jackman also reveals that his Les Miserables co-star Russell Crowe is the one responsible for landing him the role of Logan in this long-running Marvel franchise. You can watch the Access Hollywood interview, followed by Hugh Jackman's comments.
Hugh Jackman confirms his involvement in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
"There is an X-Men: First Class sequel, which Bryan Singer is directing, as you know. Which I think is awesome. It started with Bryan Singer. I know the fans are super excited. I did a three-hour, three word cameo in the last one. It literally took me three hours. As long as it took me to audition for Les Miserables. I have been talking to Bryan Singer about doing something in this. There will be more claws in this. The three is getting a little dull. Four maybe? I like that."
Hugh Jackman also talks about how Les Miserables co-star Russell Crowe helped land him the role of Logan in the X-Men franchise.
"Russell Crowe did turn down Wolverine. He turned it down and mentioned me to Bryan Singer. For that, right there, I owe him my career. You can't [pay him back for that]. I did give him a few beers the other night. I bought him a few beers and said, "Is that enough?" He said, "No."
Wolverine plays an important role in the storyline of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Having aged considerably, Logan leads a small group of mutant rebels who remain free and unharmed after the Sentinels have killed off most of their kind. The X-Men animated series has already done the story, which you can watch here.
The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima. The film is directed by James Mangold.
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters July 18th, 2014 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

@monkeyiron2-0 - Sh*t hits the fan so the X-Men in present day (Wolverine, Prof X, etc.) travel back in time to warn the X-men of the past (First Class cast) to change the course of the future.

There's no denying that, even as sh*tty as they cab be, Jackman always delivers as Wolverine. I'm sick of him being in the spotlight, but I think First Class proved that this is now a team game, not Wolverine and the X-Men. Bring it.

@monkeyiron2-0 Both. It's a sequel to First Class, and will feature McAvoy, Fassbender, and Lawrence, but it will have characters from the Singer films travelling back in time to warn the First Class team that they need to change the future.
Do you guys think Bishop will be in this?

I wonder how Wolverine will be used for this movie. He is a huge part of the story. But, despite being my favorite X-men character, many complained about his over use in the other X-men movies. But the Crowe story about getting Jackman his big break on passing on Wolverine is old news. That was told by Yahoo like a week or two ago. Kool fact though. And liked the side story about beers.lol

Wolverine is an important part of the DoFP story and he seems rather humble about it all.
But I hope to god he was kidding about that last line.
