Hilary Swank Is Betty Anne Waters

Hilary Swank will star in Betty Anne Waters, a drama with Tony Goldwyn attached to direct.

According to Variety, the story is about a single mother who worked her way through law school in order to free her brother, who was wrongfully convicted of murder.

Omega Entertainment is financing and will distribute worldwide. The film was scripted by Pamela Gray.

Swank will play the title role in the true story of a high school dropout who would not give up her belief that her brother, Kenneth, had been framed. In between raising kids and waiting tables, she worked her way through college and law school so she could represent her brother after he’d used up his attempts to appeal his conviction through public defenders.

Originally set at Universal and Working Title as a vehicle for Naomi Watts, Betty Anne Waters stalled and was resurrected with independent financing by Omega Entertainment.

Production will start in January in Michigan.

    @ladylove62 and the doctor..Don't be upset that the family now is sitting on millions, so much for be guilty..Oh did I mention the family is having good times, a movie was made about them and they are rich now.So much for being crazy maybe you should try it. DNA doesn't lie, that is why he is free. Go find the real killer and stop living the life you always wanted " being a Waters memeber". The witness was a crack head, oh maybe the witness was you.You want to talk about crazy. Im amazed you can hold your head up to write. have a good life thinking about that family. Im sure they think of you, NOT.

    I am a DNA exonoree . I didn't know Kenny but i know Betty.DNA does not lie if he was guilty he would still be in prison.What Betty did is to be admired and respected. Is there more evidence of love of a family member.I know what it means to be supported by family and what it means to be away for a long time and be innocent.
