Hilary Duff, Ellen Burstyn, Evan Ross and Michael Murphy are set to star in Nancy Bardawil's interracial teen romance Greta for Whitewater Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Duff will play the title role of a waitress who falls for an ambitious cook (Ross) at the restaurant where they work. But as their summer romance heats up, she has to overcome the concerns of her grandparents (Burstyn, Murphy) about her boyfriend's criminal past.

The film marks writer Michael Gilvary and music video director Bardawil's feature debuts.

The comic drama is now shooting in New Jersey.
