Summit's Highlander remake will be co-financed by RCR Media Group
Highlander will be directed by Justin Lin from a screenplay written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Neal H. Moritz and Peter S. Davis will produce the project. RCR Media Group's principles Rui Costa Reis and Eliad Josephson serve as executive producers on the film. Summit acquired the rights to remake the classic from Davis - Panzer Productions, Inc. in May of 2008.
In Highlander, after centuries of dueling to survive against others like him, Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his kind, a murderously brutal barbarian, who lusts for the Prize.
RCR Media Group's Chairman Rui Costa Reis said: "Highlander is a property that is known around the world and Summit's re-imagination is sure to appeal to both existing and new fans of the Highlander lore."
RCR CEO Eliad Josephson said: "We plan on this being the first of many projects we work on with Summit."
Highlander comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

I'd rather Justin Lin continue tackling this project and stay the F*CK away from the Terminator franchise. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky now that Arnold is taking some time to himself before going back into acting and Lin will devote all his time to this project.....then right when he is in the midst of shooting, the studio will decide to go forward without him. That would be ideal.

I really loved the original and some of the sequels, altho 2 kind of sent me for a loop but its a great character and a neat mythology. If this is done right i will be the first in line.

I liked BE so, Highlander 2
As for this, with all the money they've earned with Sparkles and his idiot, finally they get serious with something worth watching

I had an argument with my brother the other day over which movie was worse: Battlefield Earth or Highlander 2?
What do you guys think?

I've seen every installment of the old franchise and the two TV series. They became my guilty pleasures, but the original is still the best and I find it still holds up to this day.

@zender True. The series got terrible as it went on and the last Highlander series, featuring Duncan MacLeod, was AWFUL.
Do you know what that film established that the"Prize" they were fighting for all this time and had people saying "There can be only one" who can have it all this time was the freakin ABILITY TO HAVE KIDS!!! WTF.

@diaigma Mountain jokes in reference to Summit entertainment "plateau" and fall flat if not executed properly. You don't have that problem. However, as far as being someone who make jokes about Summit Entertainment, "There can be only one."
