High Five! Borat Make Good At Box Office
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause came in second place again as well with $16.8 million. Tim Allen reprises his role in the third installment of the holiday comedy; Spencer Breslin also stars as the head elf. In two weeks, the Disney flick has made $41 million.
And in a complete repeat of the top three from last week, DreamWorks Animation's Flushed Away came in third with $16.7 million. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and Andy Serkis voice sewer rats in the movie; it's brought in $40 million in two weeks.
The big newcomer of the weekend couldn't top the oldies. Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, and Queen Latifah star in Stranger Than Fiction coming in fourth place with $14.1 million.
Saw III took fifth place with $6.6 million; the third installment of the horror series has brought in $69.8 in three weeks. Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith return for more torture and deadly games.
Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett star in Babel which finished in sixth place this week to finish with $5.6 million. The film spans three continents, North America, Africa, and Asia; it's made $7.4 in three weeks.
The Departed came in seventh place this week taking in $5.2 million. Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio star in the Boston action film; it's made $109.7 in six weeks.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Return debuted in the eight spot with $4.7 million; she plays a woman who starts having nightmares of a murder that happened 15 years ago.
The Prestige hit the nine spot with $4.6 million for a four week total of $46 million. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale play rival magicians in the Chris Nolan-directed picture.
Russell Crowe rounds out the top ten with his romantic comedy, A Good Year debuting with $3.7 million. Directed by Ridley Scott, Russell plays a man who inherits a plot of land in London.
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan was released November 3rd, 2006 and stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Ken Davitian, Luenell, Pamela Anderson, Bob Barr, Mitchell Falk, Alan Keyes, Jean-Pierre Parent. The film is directed by Larry Charles.
