In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Hideo Nakata (The Ring Two) is going to direct Zanuck Independent's thriller Voice From the Stone.

Mark Wheaton wrote the screenplay. This project will get underway in the spring or summer.

Voice From the Stone is adapted from an Italian novel. It centers on a female child psychologist who starts working with a young boy. She comes to learn that he made a promise to his dying mother that he would not talk until her spirit comes back.
