Opening in theaters on March 6, the Zack Snyder-directed graphic novel adaptation stars Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Stephen McHattie and Matt Frewer.
The story centers on the paranoid delusions of a half-insane hero called Rorschach. On the run from the law, Rorschach reunites with his former teammates in a desperate attempt to save the world and their lives, but what they uncover will shock them to their very core and change the face of the planet!
Watchmen was released March 6th, 2009 and stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Carla Gugino, Matt Frewer. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

I just read this on ign and i wanted to post it:
It's interesting to note that Watchmen is sort of like the comic-book equivalent of Citizen Kane, in that while both are considered to be among the greatest works in their respective mediums, they've also gone curiously unread or unseen by many fans of those forms. Sure, your average movie fan likes to throw around the name Citizen Kane, but have they actually seen it? And do they get what it's all about? The same can be said of Watchmen: NOT AS MANY COMIC READERS TRULY KNOW THE BOOK AS WELL AS THEY HAVE YOU BELIEVE."

I agree, doc manhatten, if this film lives up to the novel, the critics r going to be flipping out, cuz it will surely be not only a visual masterpiece but possibly oscar worthy. I have confidence in snyder, though. He seems to be taking it rather seriously and i think he's smart enough to not f*ck it up. It's only his third film, and the guy is already making a name for himself
I also niticed "who watches the watchmen" in each one except sally jupiter's poster. Maybe it's cuz she's a minuteman instead of part of the new generation of "heroes"

JR, I wasn't saying 300 sucks, what I meant was that in 300, it was more about the visual style than the story... But Watchmen is a lot more complicated than 300, so Snyder can't be more focused on the visuals, he has to focus on the story... Trust me, if this turns out good, then it's really going to be praised... This isn't just the movie of a graphic novel, it's also the movie of a classic novel... Snyder has to respect that... I just know that the director's cut of 3 hours is going to kick ass!

OK, If Snyder finds a way to ruin the greatest graphic novel of all time, I swear to God, I'll contract an assassin to murder him... I mean, the guy has already taken out major characters and plot details... If this turns out like 300, then it's really going to suck - If this turns out good, the critics are going to LOVE this film!
