He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Dead at Warner Bros.

It seems that the power of Grayskull does not compell Warner Bros. According to Latino Review, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is apparently a dead project at Warner Bros.

The site's sources claim that the studio, "simply doesn't get the property and wasn't high on it to begin with," and that when directors Bryan Singer and Doug Liman passed on the project, which was being set up at Silver Pictures, the film was essentially dead.

Another factor in the film's demise was the departure of Silver Pictures exec Navid McIIhargey who was shepherding the project through the studio. The film was written by Justin Marks and it is unclear if the property will be shopped around elsewhere in the Hollywood system.

what the f*ck Travis? you haven't seen "Masters of the Universe"? it was only Dolph Lundgren's greatest ever performance. (yes, even better than his take on the Punisher)

really T-dog, you need to get you're sh*t together. :)

Yeah. I'd suggest they take "He-Man" out of the title and just call it "Masters of the Universe," though

I KNOW WHO HE-MAN IS AND I WAS ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS...

Cell, he-man is a character...batman, superman, spider-man, transformers, all characters...ur talking about this "remake" as if the original he-man movie is all that exists of the character. Like any pop-culture character, there's more than one incarantion. He-man has many dif. incarnations, and he really does need an update, just like batman needed an update after batman and robin and the hulk needed an update after lee's flick. If they kept it serious and not kiddish, this movie would have been epic and from what i've heard, they had a good story. The writer, Justin Marks, who's making a name for himself with other toy features(he's also writing voltron) sounded really into it.

If the movie gets back on track at another studio, i recomend Brad Pitt as He-Man and Zack Snyder to direct...but not make it rated R, i just think his style would be great for the world of Eternia

...this comment made me feel really nerdy

Dead at Warner Brothers...not dead at other studios. With all of the 80's movie properties being strip mined, it's just a matter of time before another studio sees green with a new director.

Alot of studio executives now came of age in the 80's and one or more of them is bound to get on board for a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe remake.

  20. Err

    im kinda glad.
do kids today even know who he-man is?

how good could the movie have possibly been, anyway, unless it was r-rated and man-at-arms daughter (i forget her name) is running around with her t*ts bouncing all over the place.

besides, we still have the dolph version, which i saw recently and was surprised at how watchable it is, even after all these years.

  24. K-Man

Are you kidding? Masters of the Universe is f*cking classic! Frank Langella as Skeletor is one of the best cinematic villians ever....period. So I was really looking forward to seeing what they could do with a remake and who might take up the role as both He-Man and Skeletor. I hope it gets picked up by another Studio and eventually made by a great director!

Well the movies they made up to now arn't the best mabye it's smart to leave the cartoons as the best thing about he-man
