Have Superman and Batman Been Cut from Justice League?

Can you imagine the Justice League of America movie without Superman and Batman? Well, you may have to if the latest report from Blockbuster is accurate. They claim to have been given a detailed synopsis for George Miller's long-delayed superhero epic, and it's full of surprises.

Their source wrote to them:

Feb 28, Sydney, Australia: The film is about Green Lantern, Green Arrow and others of the Justice League of America, an organisation made up of the world's greatest superheroes. They must deal with the expulsion of Batman and the death of Superman at the hands of the monstrous Doomsday".

This is a far cry from the script that supposedly focused on the death of Barry Allen (the original Flash) and Maxwell Lord commanding a horde of OMAC cyborgs.

At this point, whatever the future holds for the Justice League of America film, it seems likely that fans will be surprised - one way or the other.

Justice League of America is in development .

Okay, I have my own plot for this movie that refers to various dif. times in the league's past, since so many people seem to hate where this movie's going. In my plot I will tell what comics it is referring to that are mixed in the plot. My League is same as the League that the previous plot to this film consisted of, where the OMACs were attacking. It's a little similar to that with Barry's death, but that's about it.

The Justice League of America has been disbanded for little over year(52 and Brad Meltzer's first arc) in the wake of Barry Allen's tragic death(Crisis on Infinite Earths), which caused the League turn on each other(Identity Crisis). One of these conflicts was between John Stewart/Green Lantern and Batman, who oppose each other's point of views, Lantern being the light to Batman's darkness, Batman being the masked vigilante who only helps the League when asked(Green Lantern: Rebirth). Thier conflict only grew more strained with Barry's death. During that year, a new man, Wally West, has taken up the mantle of the Scarlet Speedster. The Big Three-Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman-have gone thier separate ways leaving thier former teammates to separately defend the people they had sworn to protect(Infinite Crisis and 52). However, when alien invaders come to Earth posing as the heroes' replacements(Grant Morrison's first arc), the League must forget thier differences to reform and earn back the world's trust. It won't be easy as the invaders are the White Martains, who are planning a large scale invasion, all the while posing as the good guys and making the League look evil to a world that has already lost thier faith in thier heroes.

possibly the biggest mistake since John Wayne was cast as Genghis Khan
on the other hand, that would be good.
After Batman Begins dug the franchise out its giant hole, i would hate to see it hurt by a bad kids movie.

Suparman and Batman weren't members of the Justice League in the beginning, but they've def. made the league what it is today. It's not the same without the big three, in the comics anyway. Maybe they could make it work in a movie. Like phatalphd said, it's all part of the script. I think they are trying to appeal to the fans by making these changes. Like most of you know, I was down with the movie before, too.

It makes sense, DC & Warner Bros. wouldn't want to release a film that could possibly contradict their current Batman & Superman franchises.... Besides I think focusing on JLA members that aren't as popular could make this film even more interesting, pending if it's done right.
