Hasbro teams with Emmett/Furla Films for Monopoly
Monopoly was previously in development at Universal Pictures, with Ridley Scott attached to direct. The filmmaker is still attached as a producer, although he will no longer direct. We reported last September that Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski were writing the screenplay for Monopoly, although it isn't known if their draft will be used under this new deal.
The Hungry Hungry Hippos board game debuted in 1978, where players control the hippos to try and gobble up as many white marbles as they can. The adaptation will be an animated feature aimed at children. No details were given regarding the Action Man project, although it is based on the 1960s British toy line.
Emmett/Furla and Hasbro are aiming to spend less than $100 million on each project, a steep downgrade from the $200 million budget of Hasbro's Battleship.
Monopoly is in development . The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

I really don't see how they can come up with a plot for Hungry Hungry Hippos. I mean at least Battleship had something viable to use as a plot base (Naval warfare). But hippos trying to eat the most food? A short film at most could be possible, but even then probably not.
