Hasbro Reveals Details About New G.I. Joe Cartoon
The series will debut as roughly five-minute long webisodes on Hasbro's website, and was written by comic book author Warren Ellis. It is hoped that the series will eventually go into full production and debut on television, most likely on Cartoon Network.
The series updates some of the technology, but tries to retain much of the classic flavor from the 1980's cartoon. That said, the guns will fire bullets, not lasers, and characters will die. Cobra Commander is a ruthless terrorist - not a buffoon.

Those are great examples of Warren Ellis' work. You should also check out his run that just ended in Thunderbolts (110-121), and his "Extremis" Iron Man run is a must read.

No renodc, we just don't read it. lol I would have said something bout ellis if i had though. If ya don't believe i'm a fan, he's written such comics as newuniversal, planetary, fantastic four, and an upcoming astonishing x-men run, which i can't wait for

Err
id watch this.
i caught the end of an episode of a new transformers cartoon, which takes place on cybertron and it was hilarious. all the constructicons had brooklyn accents and the autobots and decepticons were more like political affiliations than warring armies.
anyway im just saying it will probably be worth checking out.

Obviously not many comic book enthusiasts here because if there were there would be some major buzz about this project simply because Warren Ellis is writing the series.

The Kwisatz Haderach
Sweet, I use to love that fact the giant battles were fought in a cartoon and only robots, tanks and jeeps were destoyed. Haha!
Love the cartoon should be fun. I will miss Cobra Commander being such an idiot and a whineyass but oh well.
