Harry Potter Works Box Office Magic
Goblet joins an elite club and takes a seat at the table with Sony's Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, 20th Century Fox's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and DreamWorks' Shrek 2.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire enchanted this weekend's international boxoffice as well, sweeping all other releases before it with an estimated gross of $80 million from 5,300 prints in 19 countries, while notching up some record-breaking openings, including the highest three-day opening to date in the United Kingdom. Warner Bros. has put the film out in a limited international release, with Japan, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Benelux opening next weekend, and France and Australia the week after. By comparison, the previous Potter film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, opened last year with $112.4 million from approximately 6,000 prints in 24 countries, including day and date openings in such major markets as France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released November 18th, 2005 and stars Eric Sykes, Timothy Spall, David Tennant, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Mark Williams, James Phelps. The film is directed by Mike Newell.
