Harrison in talks for Blade Runner follow-up
Last August, producer Andrew A. Kosove claimed that the movie would have nothing to do with Harrison Ford, nor the character of Rick Deckard. The movie was said to be a total reinvention that would be completely fresh, with an all-new cast. At the time, it was not being called a prequel or a sequel, but a follow-up in the same vein as Prometheus. A spin-off, if you will.
Today, word has leaked that Harrison Ford has actually entered into early talks to appear in this new film. It is not known in what capacity, or if he will resume the role of Deckard. Twitch Film, from which this story originated, makes it clear that this is very early in the process and that anything could change at any minute. Though, the Untitled Blade Runner Project is not intended to be a reboot, nor a direct sequel to the original.
What do you think? Do you want to see Harrison Ford return to the world of Blade Runner? Do you want to see him play someone new? Or is it only acceptable to have him reprise Rick Deckard? Maybe he will narrate the film? (Okay, that is highly unlikely.)
Blade Runner was released June 25th, 1982 and stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos, M. Emmet Walsh, Daryl Hannah, William Sanderson, Brion James. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
Untitled Blade Runner Project comes to theaters in 2014.

More "great" reporting from Alan B Orange. Great meaning false.

....The question of whether Deckard is intended to be a human or a replicant has been an ongoing controversy since the film's release.
TO: "ADDICTION NON-FATAL": Both Michael Deeley (Producer) and Harrison Ford wanted Deckard to be human while Hampton Fancher (the screenwriter for "BLR".) preferred ambiguity.!
For me, the inherent ambiguity and uncertainty of the film (A Mash-Up of Film Noir and Sci-Fi.) have allowed film-watchers to see it from their own perspectives.

One minute Harrison Ford bashes the film for years....Years!!..."NOW"...he is in talks to be in a "Follow-Up"......!!! "REALLY"!??..!
I guess Ford needs to pay rent with the economy the way it is!?.

@addictionnonfatel I think so. Plus, if he was a replicant, he should already be dead if this is a sequel.

Isn't Deckard himself a "Replicant", hinted towards then end with the origami left behind by Agent Gaff?

I could see a cameo from Ford as Deckard only if his character gives an "Oh Sh*t!" moment that doesn't f*ck up the first but still makes the movie a worthy sequel, prequel, spin-off, or whatever. That'd be pretty cool i think. Like if the main character runs into Deckard somewhere and tries to aid the protagonist with his two sense since he survived the replicants(Andies) from the first, or whatever.

I didn't like Blade Runner so I'll pass on this.

I like this idea. Prometheus seems like a cool spin on the Alien world, so this seems like the right way to go.

I think there's no way he'll have the main role, MAYBE he might have a cameo as Deckard, although even that is extremely unlikely. Deckard's story ended perfectly in Blade Runner.
Anyway, Ridley knows what he's doing so either way I still super pumped for this, Harrison Ford or not.
