Lost star Harold Perrineau has signed on to star in the horror/thriller, 28 Weeks Later for Fox Atomic.

In the sequel to 2002's 28 Days Later, Perrineau will play an upbeat American Special Forces pilot who documents and leads to safety the families returning to London after the viral outbreak, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is directing 28 Weeks Later; shooting will begin later this year for May 2007 release.

28 Weeks Later was released May 11th, 2007 and stars Robert Carlyle, Catherine McCormack, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau, Idris Elba, Imogen Poots, Mackintosh Muggleton. The film is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
