A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas hits theaters this weekend, and it seems the stoner characters may also be hitting the small screen in animated form. Lionsgate is currently shopping a new animated series, which will feature John Cho and Kal Penn voicing their title characters.

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote and directed A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, are attached to write the pilot script. There is interest from several cable networks, including Comedy Central and MTV, although no official offers to pick up the series have been made.

Check back on Sunday to see how A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas fares at the box office this weekend.

I like these movies ( i know i know they are shallow pot head movies - what can i say) but this animated thing sounds like a bad idea. Like many of you mentioned.....that whole Clerks debacle should have been a red flag.

@jimthar Agreed. I was thinking of Clerks when reading the article. But I admittedly don't find Harold & Kumar all that great to begin with, so I less inclined to support the show anyways.
