Happy Feet Takes The Holiday Box Office
Casino Royale made it two weeks at number two; Daniel Craig's portrayal of the British spy tallied $31 million to bring the total to $94.2 million over two weeks.
Denzel Washington in Déjà Vu came in third as the first of the newcomers to the list; the film brought in $20.8 million over the weekend, and a 5 day total of $29 million.
Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito go to Deck the Halls in the holiday comedy; it finished fourth over the weekend with $12 million. Also opening on Wednesday, the flick has made $16.8 million over five days.
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan finally pushed over the $100 million mark this week, and finished fifth at the box office. The Sacha Baron Cohen comedy took in $10.4 million and a total of $109.2 million through four weeks.
It was the weekend of giving as Santa was on people's mind during the holiday; The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause made $10 million in sixth place. Over four weeks, the Tim Allen comedy has made $67.2 million.
Stranger Than Fiction came in seventh with $6 million. The dramedy, also starring Dustin Hoffman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson, and Queen Latifah, has made $32.7 in three weeks.
Coming in eighth place, Flushed Away with $5.8 million this weekend. Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet voice sewer rats trying to save the underground from the Evil Toad (Ian McKellen). Through four weeks, the animated film has made $57.3 million.
Following the day of the assassination of Robert Kennedy, Bobby takes the ninth spot making $4.9 million. Going wide this week, the film written and directed by Emilio Estevez, took in a total of $6.1 million over two weeks.
The Fountain rounds out the top ten bringing in $3.7 million. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz travel through three different eras in Darren Aronofsky's film; in five days, the film has made $5.4 million.
Happy Feet was released November 17th, 2006 and stars Carlos Alazraqui, Lombardo Boyar, Jeffrey Garcia, Johnny A. Sanchez, Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by George Miller, Warren Coleman, Judy Morris.
