Happy Feet Does It Again on the DVD Sales Charts!

Movie PictureThe DVD world has officially gone to the penguins!

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Happy Feet again took the No. 1 position on Nielsen VideoScan's First Alert chart.

In another bit of DVD deja vu, Universal's The Good Shepherd remained atop Home Media Magazine's rental chart.

For those scoring at home, that's 3 weeks as the No. 1 seller for Happy Feet and 2 weeks as the No. 1 renter for The Good Shepherd.

Genius Products' Bobby was the week's biggest, new release as it took the No. 5 spot in sales and placed at No. 8 in rentals. Charlotte's Web from Paramount came in at No. 2 in sales and Sony's The Pursuit of Happyness took the No. 3 spot.

In a little bit of high definition news, it seems that according to Nielsen VideoScan's sales data "through April 8 Blu-ray Disc titles have accounted for 69% of all next-generation software sales since the beginning of the year, with HD-DVD trailing at 31%."

You know I resisted seeing this one since I thought it looked kind of well, stupid. Dancing penguins and all. But saw it when my daughter brought it home and it was actually a really good movie.
