Hancock 2 may still happen says director Peter Berg
"We've been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva Goldsman and myself. We're all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel -- and Will Smith actually had the idea -- so I think it will happen, it's just a question of timing."
The last time we heard anything about Hancock 2 was back in September 2009, when Peter Berg revealed the original cast would return for the sequel, including Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan wrote the screenplay for Hancock with Vincent Ngo. It isn't known if they will return to write the sequel.
Hancock was released July 1st, 2008 and stars Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman, Jae Head, Eddie Marsan, David Mattey, Maetrix Fitten, Thomas Lennon. The film is directed by Peter Berg.
Hancock 2 is in development .

@daveactor7...did I mention I'd probably have to keep an IV for fluids and a vomit bucket nearby? I've never seen it, but I don't like scatological themes. I've also never seen a million dollars, but something tells me I'd like it.

As for the movie, Hanc*ck was overlong but it was decent. It didn't SUCK. I was entertained for a few especially in the scenes where Hanc*ck saves hostages from a bank after leaving prison, his behavior having changed

Hanc*ck was good. I even liked the end of the first movie.

Is Will Smith opposed to original material nowadays?

Hanc*ck is a rip-off of Superman, the only thing is Will's character is an emotional god that thinks he's the only one on earth. If they make part two I will not watch it if someone paid me a million dollars.

Why? The first one sucked. As if there aren't enough superhero movies already they have to go and make another one.

Let's Go Bub!
The first one was great until the end, if they can work out more of the mythology of the Hanc*ck world then I'm game.
