@bawnian-dexeus I want a RED ONE camera so bad! I was hired to be part of making a short film by one of my friends, and I would totally use that camera, but FREAKIN $25,000 MAN!!!

Nobody wants a Halo film made more than me (because I truly believe that, if done right, this series has potential to be absolutely incredible on screen). But this..... this looks like complete and utter sh*t, even for a fan film. This just proves that if you give someone a nice camera, it doesn't mean they have talent.
So let me get this straight. They have the gear of a small feature film.....which includes a freakin Red One camera with badass monitors and all the sound recording gear you would ever need, a modest size crew, they have decent props (the guns at least, not the helmets), a damn warthog (which looks pretty puny.....but still, its a fully built warthog) and they are spending some serious cash every single day just on rentals alone and they decide to shoot...........IN A NEIGHBORHOOD??????
What the hell is wrong with this guy? If they are going to be spending this kind of cash just for a fan made film......f*cking use it wisely and be smart about what you are doing!!!!!! Go on location to some cool locations that are...well, not a damn suburban neighborhood. Something that, with added special effects like a composited matte painting and a few other simple special effects that you could do in After Effects, could pass for an alien planet. Just look at all those shorts they filmed for Halo 3 and ODST.....they filmed those in a rock quarry construction site that was all dug up. It had a very alien look to it.
Its pretty clear, just off this "making of" that this guy is no Gareth Edwards and this film is no Monsters. Its too bad, too, because with this kind of cash.......it could have been.

The Narrator: The Better Man
You'd think with this sort of man power, and financing, they'd go with an easier, more entertaining film... one that's original, ya know? Maybe they're just out to prove that a Halo film can be made with proper studio backing, but that doesn't detract from the fact that this looks pretty bad.

Those costumes look retarded. At the very least they need to throw some dirt n sh*t on them, they are WAY to clean. Doesn't look believable.
