Halloween 2 Moving Ahead Without Rob Zombie's Involvement

It took a lot of tries, but I finally nailed the source of this story down to Arrow in the Head, who gathered the information from the latest issue of Rue Morgue Magazine. It seems that Halloween II is, as long rumored, moving ahead without Rob Zombie's involvement. The big news here is that Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, who were supposed to helm the often discussed Clive Barker Presents: Hellraiser remake, have confirmed themselves as the co-directors of this Dimension sequel.

In the magazine, Maury stated, "It's a proposition we couldn't refuse." They don't want to do a carbon copy of Zombie's Michael Myers. Instead, Maury says, "Our vision will be done with the utmost respect, with a continuity to Zombie's work. But also a real evolution of the world he set in place." There is no mention of where this sequel will take place. Hopefully, it will all unfold inside a hospital, just like the original.

There is no further information on when this sequel will be getting underway. We will keep you updated in the future.

Halloween II was released August 28th, 2009 and stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Chase Wright Vanek, Scout Taylor-Compton, Brad Dourif, Caroline Williams, Malcolm McDowell, Tyler Mane, Dayton Callie. The film is directed by Rob Zombie.

Mieko Siede has a point, in the old John Carpenter film he was "the shape" meaning the BITCH COULDN'T DIE. In Zombie's film (which i happened to enjoy) he was a normal guy, a f*cked up normal guy nonetheless. but making a sequel of somebody that got his head blown off is pretty ridiculous. film writers and producers are losing there touch, they have no bright and fresh ideas for horror, they have to mess with classics and try to make the franchise alive again. hopefully this movie doesn't go through, but if it does, probably won't waste my money on it.

Enough already - It was good at first, but now? Not a good a-movie-to-see.com i'd say.

There can't be a sequel. This Michael Myers is not the "shape" that John Carpenter envisioned. He was just a psychopath, not a possessed devil incarnated being. There was nothing supernatural about Zombie's take. And I can just imagine the garbage they come up with to bring Myers back. Something like she missed his head, or grazed his head, or she missed completely and hit a shoulder or something when the force of the gun moved her position slightly. But in reality, we all know, she shot Michael in the head. We also know, there is no way he could return. He isn't of the John Carpenter imagining, but the way Zombie envisioned it. Michael Myers was lost to the world, trapped in his mind and longing to be with the last existing relative of his bloodline. He wanted his family but was so disconnected his methods were irrational. And when his sister refused to connect with him, he was willing to kill her too. He felt he was betrayed by his mother because she committed suicide. He felt betrayed by the doctor because he stopped treatment and went on with his life. And with his sister all grown up and unfamiliar with him, he was truly alone. All he had done to get close to her was in vein. And most fittingly, he was killed. I don't see how another bout between Mike and Laurie could unfold. He'd be too brain damaged to have any sense of movement let alone any sense of where he is.

i know you ain't talking to me, erncrazy, for two reasons..

    1: i like Rob Zombie

2: i don't like being threatened, so what i do is counter-threat... and say stuff like "if you ever talk to me like tat again, i'll go back down to my basement and beat your mother some more, and if you don't like that... i'll fill her vagina full of cabbages!"

    that ok?

    Oh Christ .......Another Re-Make ..of a Sequel...LOL!!!

The "Halloween" Re-Make directed by Rob Zombie was the sillest crap I ever sat through, & 1 of "The Worst" films of 2007! How Rob Zombie never ever got a Razzie Nod for "Worst Director" is beyond me!

I never heard of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo...Mabey they are just two hacks, fresh out of film school W./student loans & rent to pay & they will do anything to make a movie!!!??.

I agree with Ringwraither, I think they'll have a way of explaining that the bullet somehow missed his brain...complete bullsh*t...they should make a new serial killer and start over!!

  17. Err

    well, not ALWAYS.
after paul rudd beat mr. myers upside the skull with a pipe in the curse of michael myers, that was the end of that.

that was when they started with the piss-poor h20's and resurection and then the zombie redo.

so for all intents and purposes paul rudd can be credited with finally killing the shape in the first run of halloween movies.

I've never heard of the two directors listed.

Anyways, it's a movie. Slashers always come back, so the "he got shot" argument doesn't really make much sense. This isn't on my anticipated list, so...whatever

i would pay to see you "f*ck a cactus while being anally raped by a porcupine"... hell i'd film it and put it on youtube!!

dissapointed Zombie isn't involved, thought he done a decent job with the re-make. i don't see why they shouldn't start a new franchise out of it, haters like Marco below me are just pissed cause their fav movies (DB) are ripped to sh*t! :)

Rob zombie makes films because hes good as it, ass.. There's not been one fime that he's made that hasnt been original & brutal. Note: You never see the final bullet hit its mark in the film. The girl turns her head.

    BUT he's f*cking dead!!!!

I know I know. He's lived before but Zombie's was a whole different film.

HOW THE HELL IS THIS GOING TO WORK??

But like Ringwraither said, the bullet would probably missed the brain or some sh*t idea like that.

    THis just ruined my day.

lmao, lets hope not. They should have him raised from the dead by the Necronomicon, then have Ash chainsaw his ass to bits as soon as he gets out of the ground. Roll Credits.
