Hailee Steinfeld joins Can a Song Save Your Life?
The story centers on Gretta, a talented young singer (Scarlett Johansson) who moves to New York City with her boyfriend, only to have him dump her when he gets a solo recording contract. Gretta crosses paths with a depressed record producer (Mark Ruffalo) and they strike up a relationship which could save each others careers. Hailee Steinfeld will portray Mark Ruffalo's daughter.
John Carney is directing Can a Song Save Your Life? from his own original screenplay. Anthony Bregman is producing, with Judd Apatow serving as executive producer.
Production is scheduled to start in June.
Can a Song Save Your Life? comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Hailee Steinfeld. The film is directed by John Carney.
