Gurinder Chadha (Bend it like Beckham, Bride & Prejudice) is close to signing with Regency Enterprises and 20th Century Fox to direct the film version of Dallas.

She will possibly take over for Robert Luketic (Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!, Monster-in-Law) who left the project to direct the Columbia Pictures film, 21, the story of 6 MIT students who figured a way to cheat the system and steal millions of dollars from Las Vegas casinos.

The Dallas movie, which is an adaptation of the popular TV series from the 1980's, still has a November 10th release date, says The Hollywood Reporter.
