To joekerr: A Norse God with a giant hammer Vs. a test pilot with a magic ring. Who do you think is going to get stomped??? :P

Dr. Carter, Martin Campbell is directing Green Lantern. Casino Royale and the Mask of Zorro are fantastic. The Legend of Zorro I'd rather forget about, but I am really excited about him directing

I'm not a major GL fanatic, i've watched JLA, read a few of the major storylines i know a bit or two about GL.

I just thought of that if they are going for a harder edgy (don't wanna use dark because people might think Batman might turn up) GL then i though of Craig. obviously Hal is meant to be a veternan*, so his meant to be quite older looking.

The release date will definately be pushed back i'd say a summer 2011 release probably May / June.

Also i appreciate the compliment :) and i agree with you on the whole GL / Thor concept

I also hope that they are not following Marvel footsteps and give all the heroes their own movie to lead up to JLA because I dont think that's necessary.

That's great news but who the hell is GL. I have heard of no director, no story , and no actors. Don't get me wrong I am excited for this movie but I feel as if this is being rushed. I do think it should be Hal Jordan but for the JLA movie it should be John Steweart. I say that because my man Common been intrested in that movie since Day One. Also it will let the audience know that there is more than one GL in the DC Universe.

JA Ott... I'm usually on board with a lot of things you put on here, but jumping the age difference between Gosling and Craig? That's just too much for me to bite on. I like Craig, even before Bond, but he won't fit for this part.

Anyone that knows Green Latern and the comics... you know this can be just as big as any other comic-based movie... if it's done right. GL has a ton of interesting stories they could compile a great movie from. And no offense to any Thor lovers, but a GL movie could freakin' stomp the hell out of Thor.

I still have high hopes for this one, but starting to worry with the time crunch they're putting on the release.

    Hmmm interesting...

Sam Worthington is apparently booked until 2011 with the Termiantor Salvation Trilogy and multiple other projects.
(And for such a quick release date like that they need someone free.)

Anton Yelchin confirmed he hasn't been offered the role, but that doesn't mean he ain't in consideration.

Ryan Gosling turned it down, despite that he is Warner Bros number 1 choice for the role.

If it ain't Gosling, then i'd grab a guess and go with Daniel Craig, that is if he aint too busy shooting the next Bond film, (which is being rumoured to be set in America specifically New York).

I've only read a first script draft preview of this and well to me Dec 17 2010, seems to fast since the project is very SFX heavy.
The first 10 pages of the script are somewhere on LatinoReview.

They'll bump the date back sooner or later cuz they don't have anything prepared. A movie like this shouldn't be rushed if done right this movie will be a masterpiece! Hal Jordan should be cast by now if they plan to shoot in September. David Boreanaz!!!

Sam Worthington, judging by appearance, looks like he'd make a suitable Hal Jordan...that is, if he doesn't become Batman ha By any rate, we should be hearing casting confirmations any time now
