About Rot Lop:

Rot Lop Fan is a member of the Green Lantern Corps, known to him as the "F-Sharp Bell Corps". He is blind and uses a power ring based upon the principles of sound. Rot Lop Fan protects Space Sector 911 and hails from the Obsidian Deeps. The Obsidian Deeps is a black and lightless void in a remote section of space. As a means of adapting to the lightless void, the inhabitants of the Deeps have evolved an advanced sense of hearing, while at the same time losing their sense of sight. Among the blind creatures of the Deeps was Rot Lop Fan, a brave and noble member of his people and an ideal candidate for the Green Lantern Corps. Rot Lop Fan was approached by Katma Tui to join the Corps and serve as a Green Lantern; however, her request was meaningless to the blind alien. Being blind, Rot Lop Fan had no concept of light or color. The terms "green" and "lantern" had no meaning to him, and could not be translated by the power ring. The resourceful Katma Tui reasoned that if she could not explain the concepts of light, she would translate using sound. She instructed Rot Lop Fan to imagine a sound with a pleasing resonance. This he did, as a sound in the F-Sharp range. With the concept of sound, Rot Lop Fan could manipulate the energy of the power ring. Rot Lop Fan was overjoyed and accepted the commission into the Corps."

About G'Hu:

G'hu was a prison guard on Takron-Galtos when he was captured by the inmates and used as a hostage to negotiate their release. By the time the guards were able to free him, they found he had already taken down the inmates who were holding him and was just waiting for them to open the door. G'hu is a confident, able officer in the Green Lantern Corps, and Salaak has taken a personal interest in his movement through the ranks, though he sent G'hu to combat reorientation after he failed to prevent Green Lantern Honor Guard Guy Gardner from disturbing the Guardians of the Universe. As well, Sciencell Warden Voz is currently attempting to recruit him as the head guard of the Sciencells. G'hu has been partnered with Harvid, upon the older Lantern's re-enlistment and return from retirement."

Green Lantern was released June 17th, 2011 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Mike Doyle. The film is directed by Martin Campbell.

Those are pretty cool looking toys and interesting story lines. I love the cosmic vibe this title is putting out. This is what i have been waiting for. We have seen the "hero saves the city/hero saves the planet" plenty of times. Now its time to save the universe!

@Narrator I'm certainly looking forward to it. Some of my favorite episodes in Justice League were the ones with the Corps. Kilowog is one of my favorite characters in the comic book universe, and had me calling everyone "poozers" for weeks lol :P

  3. The Narrator: The Better Man

I bet no one even bothered to read the background of the above characters. Sure the toys look crappy, but they show us some of the characters we might see in the film. That's the thing about the GL Corps, it's not one man's show; its a number of people, in fact, it's a whole CORP (makes sense don't it?). Each character is unique and special, and adds even more layers of depth and emotion to the already extensive mythos that the franchise retains. It's a space opera people, and little bits of information, like the ones listed above, help make the experience all the more juicy.

Overall, I can't wait to see any number of Lanterns on screen. Man, if its anything like Johns recent interpretations of the corp, the dialog between the Lanterns will be fun, to say the least.
