Green Arrow May Be Set to Return, Supergirl Is Gone from Smallville
When the CW announced the cast for the show at the upfronts, fans noticed that Vandervoot's name was missing. "They announced the cast... and I'm not a part of it," Vandervoort said. "We were all surprised when they chose not to bring me back as a regular, but I'm sure I'll be back for one or two [episodes]!" Vandervoot isn't entirely glum about the news, however. "The show is about Clark Kent, and I was honored to be a part of it. I mean, my character became more than it was supposed to be. She ended up sticking around the entire season."
Meanwhile, Ausiello also does some arithmetic here to surmise that Justin Hartley may be set to return to Smallville in Season Eight, reprising his very popular Green Arrow/Oliver Queen character. Between the fact that Hartley is under a talent holding deal with the CW, the fact that his pilot Austin Golden Hour wasn't picked up, and his Green Arrow character was one of the more popular characters on a show that has lost two of its' main characters, it seems extremely likely that we'll be seeing a good deal more of Green Arrow and the Justice League next season.
Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristen Kreuk, John Glover, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore and Laura Vandervoot.

The 8th season should be about developing Superman's other enemies, like Metallo and Cyborg-Superman. It shoud also have 2 or 3 episodes of Clark going into the future to help the Legion of Super Heroes. There he would learn to fly, but using the LOSH Ring and wouldn't wear the suit but something similar to the Legion's uniforms. He would also meet the good version of Braniac and fight a slew of other villains.
Upon returning to the present he would finally understand his purpose. He would go to College and learn to be a reporter and finally wear the glasses. The last episode would show Lex returning with nothing to his name and having to rebuild his forturne. He would still be evil but would know nothing about Clark's secret.
The final episode should show Clark at the Fortress learning to hover, but not fly, finally deciding to dawn the cape and shield (but not showing him wearing it), it would be near the end when he hears Lois screaming for help at the Daily Planet where he would do the tearing open the shirt to reveal the "S"...then fade to credits and the movie theme music.

Both Kristen Kreuk and Vandervoort are not big losses. They were terrible. Kreuk was so melodramatic every time she was in a scene I wanted to puke, and Vandervoort's acting skills would have been more useful if she had been cast as a robot. Michael Rosenbaum is the big loss mainly because he was by far the superior acting talent on the show, and secondly because the whole story of Smallvile is the development of the war of good vs. evil, Superman vs. Lex Luthor. Without Luthor, next season seems pointless.

I agree. According to comics they saw each other but didn't talk when they wee kids. And on my comment down there, I mean she ruined the 7th season.

At first when I had heard about Doomsday, I wasn't to excited until I heard that Micheal Rosenbaum had left the show. Since they apparently killed off Brainiac, Bizarro is dead and Zod is imprisoned in one of Clark's symbol crystals. Most the major villains are about used up. I'd like to see Metallo before it's all said and done

No Super Girl either. She'll probably just be around long enough to for Clark to free her from the Phantom Zone. I'd love to see more of the Justice League and Green Arrow, since the new directors are thinking about Doomsday has a main villain and another female character named Tess.

This really really sucks! I'm happy they got rid of Kristen, it was about time she left, but Michael and Glover... god. Why!? And thank god they decided to bring back Allison for another 22 episodes. That made me very happy. But I'm scared they will ruin the show. I've been watchin it since day one, and to remove 4 caracters all at once... it kinda scary.
