The CW has decided to move its popular new series Gossip Girl to Monday nights at 8:00 pm. According to Variety, this change will take place on January 28th.

A second season of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious will follow Gossip Girl at 9:00 pm starting February 18th. Gossip Girl will be in repeats at the time of the move, but the CW believes that this will bring a whole new audience to the program.

CBS' Kelly Kahl stated, "I don't think anyone's expecting miracles in terms of running series repeats, but at the same time, there's a unique opportunity to get some new eyeballs on it. There's great buzz and a great reaction to Gossip Girl -- now we just want to grow the audience a bit. The Wednesday night competition is tough, and it will get tougher with American Idol moving in."
