Godzilla lands screenwriter Drew Pearce
Dave Callaham (The Expendables) wrote the original draft, which was subsequently reworked by David S. Goyer and, most recently by Max Borenstein, who took over the scripting duties in November. Drew Pearce will work on the script for four weeks, although it won't be a major overhaul. It is said that the scribe will primarily be aging up the characters, to match up with the actors the studio would like to cast.
Gareth Edwards (Monsters) will direct, with Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, and Brian Rogers producing. No production schedule has been released yet.
Godzilla comes to theaters May 16th, 2014 and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards.

I thought this was the movie david goyer abandoned Man of Steel for?!! LMAO, with Goyers recent interview about MOS it seems he has went back to a winner and skipped this dud. Plus it seems they cant get the story right since this will be the 4th guy to come aboard and do rewrites.

This is great news actually, that fact that they have another guy polishing the script more means that they are trying very hard to make this a great film. I wonder who will play in this, can't wait for casting announcements. I also wonder if Godzilla will just be a total CGI creature or if so motion capture will be used if. If I think Andy Serkis would make a great choice.

Sounds good and while many of you all hated Monsters I thought that Gareth Edwards did a fine job considering the budget he had and the fact that he created the FX himself.
