Godzilla Lands Writer David S. Goyer

David S. Goyer signs on to write Godzilla
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have hired screenwriter David S. Goyer to pen the script for their upcoming monster remake Godzilla.

The writer has a longstanding relationship with both Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures from his work on superhero fare such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Man of Steel. David S. Goyer will be reworking the original script by Dave Callaham.

We reported back in January that Monsters director Gareth Edwards is taking the helm on Godzilla. Producer Brian Rogers revealed back in September that Godzilla will stay close to the creature feature's original roots, while giving it a modern feel for today's audience.

At the time of that September report, Legendary and Warner Bros. were aiming for a 2012 release date, although that seems unlikely now that more script work is being done.

Godzilla comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards.

This is amazing news to me! I was wondering whether or not Legendary Pictures scrapped the project over Pacific Rim but this gives me new hope. Now all we need is a great solid cast.

David Goyer has a list of good work so I'm happy he is on board. Hope hr is not going to start from the beginning of Godzilla! Over that he needs to have him fighting other monsters in this movie for it to be successful. Also keep his original shape as Tokyo has.

Although I am not a fan of Godzilla, i do like David S. Goyer and I am eager to see what Gareth Edwards does with this film so I am intrigued at the moment. Lets hope for good results.
