Anna Karenina and Kick-Ass 2 star Aaron Johnson is considering taking the lead role in Warner Bros.' Godzilla reboot.

We reported earlier this week that The Walking Dead creator Frank Darabont is currently rewriting the screenplay. The actor will reportedly wait until this most recent draft is complete, before making a final decision. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Rises), Max Borenstein (The Seventh Son), and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) have previously worked on the screenplay.

Gareth Edwards (Monsters) is directing, with Legendary Pictures' Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni producing alongside Mary Parent (Pacific Rim). No production schedule has been released.

Godzilla comes to theaters May 16th, 2014 and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Victor Rasuk. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards.

That would be phenomenal to watch him dress as Kick-Ass and fight Godzilla in this movie. On a serious note, he is a good choice.

Okay. Much like Transformers, I don't think many people will be clamoring for the humans in the film to be given great amounts of screen time, but Johnson's a good pick.
