Although this is another remake... (Death Race 2000 with Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine)... this looks like it could stand alone.

Where as the 1975 version was like an immoral game show that many thought should be banned (drivers actually would get POINTS to run pedestrians over) this year's movie is slightly different. Not much... but it is.

This year's movie is a combination of Death Race 2000 and the Running Man (or the recent Condemned). Its a show for the populace but... in this movie, the winner gets set free from prison (ala Running Man or the Condemned). Whereas the 1975 version was simply a game with Carradine's charcter, Frankenstein, the undefeated champion of the game.

I don't know... I hate remakes, but I usually go see them anyway. I hate they're ruining a cult classic, but oh well... hollywood is gonna do it anyway. I just hope its as good as the trailer makes it out to be.
