Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Explicit Topless Poster!

Way back in February, David Fincher revealed that he wanted to showcase a topless Rooney Mara in his theatrical posters for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, though he didn't think they'd ever be seen in America. Well, thanks to the Wild West that is the Internet, the international topless and pierced 1-sheet is now available for gazing upon. Check out this explicit (by American standards; but perfectly suitable for the pub theaters of Merry Ol' England} image below, which also includes a look at Daniel Craig.

@Number1Wolverine she's actually supposed to be flat-chested and without the greatest body, like a 14 year old girl.

So wank to that image. :p

I'm not complaining, but gotta love the sexual exploitation on a movie based on a book that supposedly "denounces" the mistreatment of women.

Hmm.. I like how this movie is trying to be a turn-off from the get-go for conventional, mainstream audiences. Gutsy, but it will probably have a good payoff.

@zanyzap @narrator And the score in TSN is half the reason I really liked that film. I thought it was one of the perfect elements of that movie.

That's a really good poster. And I don't say that because "boobs!", but because it seems artful and tasteful to me.

@narrator: All valid points. I loved the score for TSN; I thought it was very unique. If the academy wouldn't award Fincher for TSN, a more modern film, he will be completely ignored for this. There also may be potential for a few acting nominations. Fincher pulls performances out of people and Mara received praise for her very small role in TSN. Also Craig is due in my opinion; and this role is pretty crazy.

  25. The Narrator: The Better Man

@zanyzap, gotta disagree with you there, amigo. It'll likely lose best make-up to a number of films released in the fall, such as "The Thing" remake (providing they go practical effects heavy and not CGI heavy), Scorsese's "Hugo Cabret", Singh's "Immortals", Spielberg's "War Horse", and possibly Pearce's Sherlock Holmes sequel. It'll be tough competition for that category, to be sure.

As for score, I doubt that'll happen. Reznor's score, while intoxicating in certain parts, had a lot of people uncomfortable in an unnecessary way for the film, although I found it completely fitting. Besides this film being the film it is, having seen the originals, is likely to be completely unnoticed by the academy. Rznors score, whether it's good or not, will possibly be overlooked just because it belongs to a film that's not the norm for the academy, hampering it's chances. Ya know?

  26. ZanyZap

@narrator: Makeup and costume design, hopefully best score (Trent Reznor repeat) and maybe (but it's a stretch, at least for the win) best adapted screenplay.

  27. The Narrator: The Better Man

This film won't be nominated for any major Oscars, folks. If you've seen the originals, it's just not that type of film. The most I can see it walking away with is are "Best Achievement in Art Direction", "Best Achievement in Cinematography", and possibly "Best Achievement in Direction" nominations. Nothing more, I believe, because this just isn't the type of film that the Oscars cater to, nor is the story really an Oscar worthy tale. It's compelling and great, but it presents the filmmakers with nothing mind-blowing to work on, leaving all flair to execution. No doubt, Fincher will indeed execute the living hell out of this thing, and do the material justice, but I don't expect it to sweep any prestigious awards this year. All I want it a solid film, and damn it, I do believe that's more than what we'll get.

    Pumped for this, man... pumped.

@vacaslocas It's David Fincher's vision. It's his adaptation. It's not a remake. Besides, how do you what's even In the movie and what's Not in the movie? Have you seen it yet?? If not then don't critique a film before giving it a chance to see it.
