The Flight Of The Phoenix: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Giovanni Ribisi is poised to join Dennis Quaid and Jacob Vargas in the actioner remake of The Flight of the Phoenix for helmer John Moore, 20th Century Fox and studio-based producer John Davis.

Filming will begin in Africa on Oct. 20. The 1965 original "Phoenix," directed by Robert Aldrich, starred James Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Peter Finch, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine, Ian Bannen, Ronald Fraser and George Kennedy in the story of a group of men stranded in the Sahara desert following a plane crash. With no way out, they try to build a plane using pieces from the wreckage.
