Ghostbusters 3 Planning to Shoot Summer 2013
With Paramount sidelining their NFL-based project Draft Day, Ivan Reitman will have time to return as director of the long awaited reboot. Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver are all coming back to teach a new generation of Ghostbusters the ropes of the profession. We reported that Bill Murray lost interest in the film back in August.
Ghostbusters 3 is in development and stars Sigourney Weaver, Anna Faris, Eliza Dushku, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts, Ernie Hudson. The film is directed by Ivan Reitman.

Am I the only one wondering why Rick Moranis doesn't seemed to be mentioned anywhere in any of these Ghostbusters 3 articles? Personally I think it's hard to imagine Rick Moranis not being there.

Bill has been jerking them around for years about doing this movie. Back in the late 90's when they first wrote a script, Murray kept saying he'll do it... until the script showed up and he passed. Then they would go through this whole cycle again.
I don't get Bill Murray, he'll do any Wes Anderson piece of crap but he won't accept a role he's already played twice before. He's got nothing to lose by doing it. It's not like his career is going to tank if he does a third "Ghostbusters". He'll make a big payday. The fans will love it. But if it bombs, oh well. On to another crappy Wes Anderson movie.
I agree, however, that they have waited WAAAAAAY too long to do this. They should have made it by 1999 or at the latest 2009. If it's over 20 years since the last one, it's probably too late.

@monkeyiron2-0 I agree. Why couldn't they just do a movie based off the game? Well for me, it's Murray. He either wants to be killed off, or not involved with it. Which to me is stupid. They could do it like the game, but different story, and they decided to retire and move to Miami Beach. Part of me wishes for a live action TV show instead. Think Supernatural in a way. I think with how they do the graphics for that show, and others, they could do it. And, even reboot the whole story just for TV. Make it, with Murray, or not at all. He is a major piece of the franchise, and alive, not dead. After the first 30 mins of the film, he can be in it less and less as it goes. Then a big part of the last "fight". And he act like Glover in Lethal Weapons movies. Too old for this sh!t, and decides to retire... Leaves open for more films with new cast, yet leave fans happy for it having him, and not killed.

No Bill f***g Murray, no good movie :/ i thing that lost this guy movie lost 1/4 all of two previous parts. film would probably be shot, so my lamentations will not change anything, of course i wwill watch movie and i hope Aykroyd, Ramis Weaver and Hudson do good interesting not exaggerated movie.
