John Hodgman clears up Ghostbusters 3 casting rumor
"If you were hypothetically offered a role in Ghostbusters 3... would you take the role? Let's say you're [playing] sort of the dissolute son of Egon, the Harold Ramis character, and you're kind of like John Candy in Splash, you're kind of a mess. But it turns out you're a natural ghost-whisperer, a natural psychic. But here's the thing: Bill Murray's not going to be in this movie, and probably not happy that you are. But you get to be in a major role, in a major movie and one of the greatest franchises of all time. Would you do it?"
He added more confusing fuel to the fire by later tweeting that Tom Scharpling was also cast as the son of Harold Ramis' Egon. It turns out to be a joke, as John Hodgman confirmed on Twitter earlier today.
"ANSWER THREE: I am not appearing in Ghostbusters 3. Nor is @scharpling. That was a radio #fakecastingnews joke."
It seems the mystery surrounding Ghostbusters 3 will continue, for now.
Ghostbusters 3 is in development and stars Sigourney Weaver, Anna Faris, Eliza Dushku, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts, Ernie Hudson. The film is directed by Ivan Reitman.

I say reboot the whole thing, take a diff route, diff story, new cast, but keep the same depts, , Ghostbuters will forever be the koolest flick of the 80s growing up. but i rather that they leave thi alone and start up awhole new reboot./remake. because if they plan on bringing everybody back, but 1 or 2 main actors, then thats not ghostbuters, , Its kinda like makin a batman film w/out alfred.
